Eamon was the founder Director of the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology and is currently Director of the Centre for Economic and Social Research on Dementia at the University of Galway. He has published over 180 refereed articles in health economics, health policy, ageing, dementia and mental health journals. He has also co-authored and edited several books, monographs and policy evaluations on ageing, dementia and social justice issues. Eamon has been a national Health Research Board (HRB) Research Leader in dementia and his work has been influential in setting the agenda for the ongoing reform of public policy for older people in Ireland.
